Training is the process of taking someone from where they
are now to where they need to be, from what they are able
to do now to what they need to be able to do.
This can only be achieved by.
Setting measurable objectives for each session and day of
the course - if these objectives are not met then the training
has not been successful.
Using an interactive training style - 73% of delegates learn
by seeing and doing rather than by hearing.
Getting the whole group involved in exercises and case studies
- if work is done in groups then it is less easy for delegates
to 'hide' and not contribute.
Allowing the trainer's experience to interact with that
of the group.
Motivating delegates so that they want to learn because they
can see the benefits of training.
Our training style utilises all of the most modern training
techniques. We do not just use question and answer case studies
but encourage delegates to be creative and to think for themselves.
This may include musical hooks, mix and match jigsaws and trading
games as well as real-life situations in which a delegate
may find themselves.
We also use the 'island formation' in our room layout as
this encourages group work and interaction.
Morning Meeting
On most courses, we start the day with a 'morning meeting'
where delegates are asked to comment on the previous day's
events in financial markets. This sets up the day by getting
delegates to read the financial press and think about things
that matter in today's markets rather than simply teaching
abstract concepts.
It also gets delegates used to financial jargon and allows
them to ask questions about phrases and instruments they encounter.
Further Training
Many clients have found our training methods so effective
that money is actually saved. This is because the amount of
further training that is needed is less as delegates have
managed to absorb, interpret and practice necessary skills
during the course.
